The last few years have seen unprecedented volatility in global equity markets.  John will provide a bottom-up stock-picker's assessment of critical factors affecting developed and emerging equity markets.  The discussion will address sovereign risks, the status of the global financial sector, the ongoing battle between inflationary and deflationary forces, and how these and other factors are presenting both misperceived opportunities and risks at the stock level.  This is intended to be an interactive and open forum to discuss any matters pertaining to the global investment landscape.

John D. Hock, CFA 

 

A native of Cincinnati and graduate of LaSalle High School, John received his B.S. in Economics at Cornell University and M.B.A from New York University.  Since joining the Global Securities Research and Economics Group at Merrill Lynch in 1990, John has focused on identifying investment opportunities and risks around the world.  From 1996 to 2000, he was a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and member of the Investment Strategy Committee at Hansberger Global Investors, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  In 2000, he launched Altrinsic Global Advisors, LLC, a Greenwich, CT-based investment boutique specializing in global investing.  Altrinsic currently invests approximately $9.3 billion on behalf of leading institutional investors domiciled in North America, Europe, and Australasia.  He is married with three children and resides in Greenwich, CT.
